Spark: UCAR Science Education
Biography
Spark helps to connect the advances and innovations developed at the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) and the UCAR Member Universities to the needs and priorities of a diverse people by helping them to learn, understand, and apply these advances and innovations. Like UCAR and NCAR, Spark seeks to serve the university community by catalyzing efforts and building tools that expand the capability of universities, while also pursuing our own pioneering work. Spark's overarching goal is to make an impact on public understanding of atmospheric science concepts and process through alliances and partnerships that disseminate proven experience and resources from Spark and the University Community to a national audience.

The Spark collection consists of educational audio-visual materials used for programming, tour and exhibit notes, including audio tour manuals and scripts from the 1990s, student activities, public visitor program logs, an NCAR history collection, and various correspondence and memoranda related to UCAR/NCAR. The Spark collection records demonstrate UCAR/NCAR's commitment to atmospheric science education and the education program's evolution.
