Biographical / Historical
NESL's Mission: To advance understanding of weather, climate, atmospheric composition and processes; to provide facility support to the wider community; and, to apply our research results to benefit society.
NESL was formed in 2009 from the Atmospheric Chemistry Division (ACD), Climate and Global Dynamics Laboratory (CGD), Mesoscale and Microscale Meteorology Lab. NESL dissolved in 2015 and its divisions became the following NCAR Labs: Atmospheric Observations and Modeling Laboratory (formerly ACD, now ACOM), Climate and Global Dynamics Laboratory (CGD), Mesoscale and Microscale Meteorology Laboratory (MMM).
