Biographical / Historical
SIP was formed in 2004. SIP's mission is to be the premiere focal point for integrating social science and societal impacts understanding into the weather enterprise through cutting-edge research and capacity building. SIP produced the newsletter Weather and Society Watch, which was discontinued in 2012. Issues of the newsletter are available in the web archives and in OpenSky.
