Aerosol samplers, 1970s
Scope and Contents
This file includes three examples of aerosol samplers. 2-Bag Aerosol Sampler (B). Collect sample of air into the sample bag; air is then analyzed – involved in testing for changes in the ozone. Aerosol Sampler (D) This item typically sat on a 100 foot tower and was exposed to the elements which speaks to its waterproof features. Has a solid state relay to turn on signal for the valves; also possessed some sensors. The board was designed by NCAR and made probably made by an outside vendor. NCAR ATD TSF was the main users of this tool. Inside the plastic bag are hand written notes and diagrams. There are also instructions for making the Teflon bags for the CALPOT (H). Timeframe of this item may correspond to the date when SFS was disbanded? 6-Bag Aerosol Sampler (M). This item appears to be the precursor of (B) and (D) and built and used for the same purpose and function.
