Weather Reconaissance Squadron based at Eilson AFB, Alaska; discovery and occupation of ice island T-3 (Fletcher's Island); development of NSF's Antartctic Program; thoughts about role of polar regions and atmospheric circulations in control of global climate; NOAA's climate research program.
