A packet, announcing NCAR Graphics Release 3.00, dated December 1, 1989. This packet offers an overview , a list of supported systems, and ordering and pricing information. Version 3.00 was a major release with considerable new functionality such as: a new contouring package allowing for color, software for filling arbitrary polygons with various patterns, color conversion functions, picture segmentation storage and recall, Postscript output, and new font capabilities.

A packet announcing NCAR Graphics Version 4 from 1996. Version 4 was a major release. It was the first release of the NCAR Command Language (NCL)--a scripting language interface to the graphics functions. NCL would grow in popularity and become the flagship product. Also, with Version 4 extensive online documentation was released, eliminating the need to produce expensive hard copy documents. The release was shipped on either CD-ROM or 8mm cassette formats. Pricing was: $4,800 for non-university orders, $3,000 for foreign universities, and $1,000 for North American universities.

A packet announcing NCAR Graphics 4.1.1 and NCL from 1999. The packet announcing 4.1.1 also announced a future release of "NCAR DataVision" that was to replace "NCAR Graphics" to describe the new package. However, "DataVision" had already been trademarked, so that name was dropped.

A one-page advertisement for NCL, PyNGL, and Pynio, from 2008. PyNGL is a Python interface to the graphics software, first released in 1994; PyNIO, also released in 1994, is a Python interface to the I/O capabilities of NCL. Python is a popular open source scripting language, not developed at NCAR. These interfaces opened NCAR Graphics to a wider audience.
