Project Learn, 1991 - 1999

Project LEARN (Laboratory Experience in Atmospheric Research at NCAR) was a series of summer institutes in which teachers worked directly with NCAR scientists in their laboratories, gaining first-hand experience in the process of scientific investigation. Teachers learned activity-based strategies that would engage students from ethnically and geographically diverse backgrounds in the excitement of scientific discovery. NCAR scientists and educators also traveled to rural areas to conduct inservice training designed to familiarize teachers with concepts relevant to the atmospheric sciences. The folder contains printouts of articles published on the internet. LEARN was funded through grants from the National Science Foundation and the National Center for Atmospheric Research.
