Eagle wood sculpture, Mesa Lab, 2005-07-15
File
Identifier: - 02 COMM
Scope and Contents
Boulder tree carver Lueb Popoff uses a chain saw to shape a golden eagle on the remnant of a ponderosa pine on the Mesa Lab campus. The idea for transforming the dead tree into a piece of art came from staffers who wanted to create something beautiful as a tribute to the landmark ponderosa pine, which had been known as Old Jake.
