 File

Scope and Contents

A collection of photos of the landscape 8 years after the Hayman Fire, northwest of Colorado Springs, CO. Scientists with the BEACHON project are studying how forests impact weather and air quality. Burn areas like the ones pictured and areas affected by mountain pine beetles may alter local weather patterns. Scientists are pictured at the Four Mile State Wildlife Area (where the balloons are being deployed) and the Manitou Springs Experimental Forest (where the tower is located).
