A collection of photos from the first driftsonde flight as part of the AMMA (African Monsoon Multidisciplinary Analyses) project in Zinder, Niger, Africa. The series shows the equipment being prepared in the lab, brought out and assembled on a long runway or road, and the balloon launch into the air. NCAR scientist Terry Hock is seen in photo DCSN0250, otherwise the individuals in the photos are not identified. Photographer is unknown.
