Scope and Contents

Photos from the High Altitude Observatory's CoMP field project at the Mauna Loa Observatory on the Big Island, Hawaii. The project goal was to deploy CoMP (Coronal Multichannel Polarimeter), which tracks magnetic activity around the entire edge of the Sun, covering much more area than previous instruments. There are close up photos of the instruments and wiring, and a photo of the open dome with the equipment exposed.
