Scope and Contents
A collection of photos from the North American Monsoon Experiment (NAME) field project in Mazatlan, Mexico. It focuses on observing and understanding the key components of the North American monsoon system and their variability within the context of the evolving land surface-atmosphere-ocean annual cycle. Photos include data collection in a variety of locations such as a rooftop and a vegetated area, the S-Pol radar system and ground-based facilities, research aircraft and staff aboard, scenery at the shore and inland, local people, animals (pigs, sea creatures), and a variety of buildings. Staff identified include David Gochis, Jose Meitin, John Adler (NOAA) and photographer Carlye Calvin.
