Scope and Contents
A collection of photos from the Plains Elevated Convection at Night (PECAN) field project, which ran from 06/01/2015 to 07/15/2015 in the southern Great Plains of the United States, designed to advance the understanding of continental, nocturnal, warm-season precipitation. There are photos of the S-Pol radar equipment, cloud formations, lightning, and scientists at work in the field and the lab. Individuals pictured include Nicholas Zelasko (University of Wyoming) and Matthew Paulus (NCAR), Richard Clark (Millersville University) Kalen Fisher (undergraduate meteorology major at Millersville University), John Hubbert, Eric Loew, Mike Dixon, Josh Wurman (CEO of the Center for Severe Weather Research), Bill Gallus (Iowa State University), Tammy Weckwerth (NCAR), Leslie Cain (student at Fort Hayes State University) and Shiou-Rong Chu (student at National Taiwan University), Steven Koch (NOAA/NSSL), Michael Biggerstaff (University of Oklahoma).
