Scope and Contents
Project Boomerang was a series of eight 64-foot diameter superpressure balloons designed to carry scientific payloads to 30mbs (78,000 feet). A copy of launch site survey is included as well as a copy of the MOU between governments, a press release describing a 36-day flight of a scientific payload that was recovered nine miles west of the launch after two circumnavigations of the earth and a brief summary of the test results. Also included are photographs of the balloon launch clamp, the main balloon and tow balloon prior to launch, the balloons at launch, and the launch vehicle.
