An acronym within an acronym labels this file: E.M.A. (Electrodynamics of the Middle Atmosphere); M.A.P. (Middle Atmosphere Program). Early planning correspondence and preliminary cost estimates to support EMA are on file as well as a proposal to NSF requesting approval to provide technical assistance and launch services. Also included are handwritten planning meeting notes and telex messages covering logistical matters and balloon launches. A copy of the nomination for the NCAR Technology Advancement Award is in this file. This award was subsequently presented to ATD/GAMP staff members in recognition of their services during EMA.
