CGM, Graphcap, and Fontcap Supplement, Version 3.2, 1993

In the 1980s there was an effort to move to base NCAR Graphics on national (ANSI) and international (ISO) graphics standards. One of these was the CGM (Computer Graphics Metafile) Standard. This standardized the encoding of graphics functionality in a device-independent file. In order to display such a file, various device-specific translators had to be written. The production of such translators was reduced to filling in master tables called graphcaps and fontcaps. The document in this folder, dated June, 1987, describes how to do this.
