Scope and Contents From the Series: This series consists of audio tape and motion picture film from the Outreach Office, under the NCAR Director. Approximately 80% of these materials are motion picture films, and are in many different formats. There is an assortment of color and black and white, sound and silent. Some films have many duplicates and versions, while others have little to no inscriptions to identify their content. This reel-to-reel tape was labeled "Dedication Luncheon at Harvest House." Upon digitization, it was found that the tape actually contains two audio recordings: 1) Mesa Laboratory dedication luncheon, held at the Harvest House in Boulder, May 10, 1967; 2) Hollow Square talk: Observations and Theories of the Sun's "General Circulation": A Non-Mathematical Sketch, Peter A. From the introduction: "This is a movie of weather that never happened, at least not in the real atmosphere. It shows changing sea-level pressure patterns and hypothetical clouds -- computer-generated weather that happened only in the CDC 6600 computer at the National Center for Atmospheric Research in Boulder, Colorado."
