When the high-resolution DICOMED film recorders came online in 1981 they were driven by DEC computers running the RSX-11M operating system. Over the years it was found that increasing demands on the cameras required a major upgrade in the driving computers. The computer chosen was a Sun 4. This document, dated December, 1988, describes the system interface to the DICOMED cameras. This was the basic configuration used until the cameras were retired in 1997.

From 1966 until the arrival of the CDC 7600 in 1971, the CDC 6600 computer was the main workhorse machine in the Computing Facility. This manual, dated March of 1970, served as a getting started user guide for using the CDC 6600. It was pretty basic, starting with stating what a computer is and describing had to create a card deck for running Fortran programs. An overview of the Fortran language is contained.

Scope and Contents In the early to mid 1980s the SCD Graphics Group undertook the task of basing the graphics package on the ANSI/ISO Graphical Kernel System (GKS) Standard for two-dimensional graphics. GKS would replace the locally-developed System Plot Package (SPP) low-level functionality. The GKS conversion effort culminated in its first release in August of 1986.
