Scope and Contents From the Series: This series consists of audio tape and motion picture film from the Outreach Office, under the NCAR Director. Approximately 80% of these materials are motion picture films, and are in many different formats. There is an assortment of color and black and white, sound and silent. 6 large reels grouped together. Note: These films were labeled "HAO Solar Preparation." Upon digitization, it was found that they contain silent raw footage for the film "Shadow Across the Sun," which documented the High Altitude Observatory's 1970 solar eclipse expedition to Oaxaca, Mexico. Digitized copies of two of the six films are available in the OpenSky digital repository, under the title "Raw footage for Shadow Across the Sun."
