In the late 1980s and the early 1990s the NCAR Graphics Group, in collaboration with the University of Colorado Department of Computer Science, sponsored what the CU department called a Senior Project Course. These projects consisted of a small team of senior computer science majors working with members of the SCD Graphics Group on a substantial real world project.
